Camp Hill line stations

Three new stations on the Camp Hill Line opened to the public on Tuesday 7 April 2026 at Pineapple Road, Kings Heath and Moseley Village.

With these three brand-new stations open, these communities are connected to Birmingham City Centre for the first time since the original line closed during World War II in 1941.

Staff from Transport for West Midlands welcomed the first passengers with goodie bags on the first day of service as locals visited to get their first look at the stations and to try out the new services.

Latest work

There’s a link to the line’s past with one of the stations, too, as the original Kings Heath sign was re-installed at the new railway station. The old Kings Heath sign was purchased from a private buyer, restored and is back at its rightful home at the entrance of the new station.

All the stations on the Camp Hill Line welcomed passengers with timetable information and ticket machines dispensing tickets for all routes.

The challenge - why we did this

The three original stations in this area closed in 1941, during World War 2, due to coal shortages. Since then, the population of the area has grown. There’s also more commercial activity. This means more people are travelling. All this has led to traffic congestion and long journey times on the roads.
